The Real Cost of a Las Vegas Wedding: A Honest Budget Breakdown from a Local Planner

May 4, 2026

Let’s talk about the thing everyone is thinking about but not enough people are talking about honestly: what does a Las Vegas wedding actually cost?

As a Las Vegas wedding planner who works with couples across a wide range of budgets, we’ve seen the full spectrum — from beautifully executed $15,000 micro-weddings to multi-day celebrations that run well into six figures (and beyond). And one of the things we’re most committed to is transparency. So here’s the real breakdown.

(Note: All figures below are based on current 2025-2026 Las Vegas market pricing and are meant as general benchmarks. Actual costs vary significantly based on vendor selection, guest count, and scope.)

The Venue and Catering: Your Biggest Line Item

For most Las Vegas weddings, venue and catering will represent 40–50% of your total budget. At a luxury Strip resort, food and beverage minimums alone can range from $15,000 to $60,000 or more, depending on guest count and menu selections. At boutique or off-Strip venues, you’ll generally find lower minimums with more flexibility.

Budget benchmarks for venue + catering:

Intimate (up to 30 guests): $8,000–$20,000

Mid-size (50–100 guests): $20,000–$60,000

Large (100–200+ guests): $60,000–$150,000+

These ranges include the venue rental (or room minimum), food, beverage, and basic staffing. They do not include florals, entertainment, or decor.

Photography and Videography

Photography is consistently one of the areas where couples tell us, in retrospect, they wish they had invested more. Your photos and video are literally the only things you’ll have from your wedding day for the rest of your life — everything else is memories.

In Las Vegas, experienced wedding photographers typically range from $3,000 to $8,000+ for full-day coverage. Videography adds another $2,500 to $8,000 depending on the package. Budget benchmarks:

Photography: $3,000–$8,000

Videography: $2,500–$8,000

Combined packages: sometimes available for $7,000–$12,000

Hair and Makeup

Bridal hair and makeup in Las Vegas ranges from about $250 to $1000 per person depending on the artist and the complexity of the look. For a bridal party of five people including the bride, budget approximately $1,500–$3,500 for hair and makeup combined. Don’t forget: if your artists need to travel to your venue or hotel, there may be a travel and parking fee.

Florals and Decor

Floral and decor budgets are one of the most variable line items in any wedding budget — because the range of what’s possible is enormous. A simple, elegant bouquet and some small arrangements for a small wedding can start around $2,000–$3,000. A fully styled, lush floral production for 150 guests can run $15,000–$60,000 or more.

Our advice: be honest with your florist about your budget upfront. A skilled Las Vegas florist will work with you to create something beautiful within your parameters.

Minimal/intimate: $2,000–$5,000

Mid-range: $5,000–$15,000

Lush / full production: $15,000–$60,000+

Entertainment

DJ services in Las Vegas typically range from $1,500 to $4,000 for reception coverage. Live bands range significantly based on size and genre — a smaller trio might start around $3,000, while a full band can run $10,000–$25,000+. Photo booths, live painters, and other interactive entertainment are popular add-ons that range from $800 to $2,500.

Wedding Planner Investment

Yes, hiring a Las Vegas wedding planner is an investment — and it’s one that pays for itself in ways that are sometimes difficult to quantify until after your wedding day. Beyond the logistical value, a great planner saves you money by helping you allocate your budget wisely, catches contract issues before they become problems, and prevents the kinds of costly last-minute fixes that happen when things aren’t properly coordinated.

At The Vegas Planners, our service packages vary based on scope. Day-of coordination typically starts in the $2500–$3,500 range. Full-service planning is priced based on the complexity and scale of your event. We’re always transparent about our fees and happy to discuss what makes sense for your budget.

The Extras That Add Up

Beyond the main categories, here are the line items that couples often forget to budget for:

Transportation (limos, shuttles, Sprinter vans): $500–$3,000

Officiant: $400–$1,200

Invitations and stationery: $500–$3,000

Wedding cake or desserts: $500–$3,000

Gratuities for vendors: typically 15–20% of service cost

Marriage license (Clark County, Nevada): $102

Miscellaneous and emergency fund: always add 10% of your total budget

The Bottom Line

A Las Vegas wedding done well — with quality vendors, thoughtful design, and professional coordination — typically starts around $20,000–$25,000 for an intimate celebration and scales from there based on guest count, venue, and scope.

The most important thing we tell every couple we work with: don’t build your budget around what you hope things cost. Build it around what they actually cost — then make intentional decisions about where to invest and where to simplify. That’s how you end up with a wedding that feels beautiful and aligned, rather than one that stretched you past your comfort zone.

As your Las Vegas wedding planner, helping you build and manage a realistic budget is one of the most valuable things we do — and it starts with an honest conversation.
